• pronunciation: oosh-tah-kyoo

We work with a team of over 20 Indigenous medicine practitioners. Our Uuštukyuu provide traditional medicines and cultural healing, mentorship and guidance, both in person and virtually, on an as-needed basis.

Our Uuštukyuu are known and may be requested by name, though we always work together as a team. We are here to facilitate and to witness healing, but it is always the Creator who does the work.

  • pronunciation: ah-hoos-ma

We refer to those who require our healing work as “precious” because that is what they are to us and to the Creator.

We serve both Indigenous and non-Indigenous ahusma, on-reserve and in urban communities.

  • Our work is guided by the wisdom of Uuštukyuu Itskh, who guard our t̓apatšiƛ (policies).

The Uut Uuštukyuu Society Board of Directors meets every other month, and provides high level oversight, strategic support and guidance to the Society. It is made up of Indigenous and non-Indigenous members, including Uuštukyuu, healers, and experts in a range of vital capacities.

  • Our Hupiiḥa program pairs those embarking on their jouney as Healers with Uuštukyuu and Uuštukyuu Itskh.
